Hi, I would like to clarify how the different OpenMAX IL versions should work, specially how a client should communicate with different implementations with different versions. The specification says that 1.1 implementations should be backward compatible with 1.0. That means if a client is using 1.0 API then the implementation should still work correctly. That makes perfect sense for clients, as the OpenMAX IL standard seems to be focused on. But what exactly do they mean by 1.0 and 1.1? What about 1.0.2 or 1.1.1? Should 1.1.1 be backwards compatible with 1.1? To me the only explanation possible is that by 1.0 they mean the latest revision of 1.0, which in this case is 1.0.2, and 1.1 is actually 1.1.1. So a 1.1 compliant implementation should be compliant with 1.1.1 actually, or any current version. Do you think that's the case? -- Felipe Contreras |
