I'am having trouble using libsane-perl frontend and the flat part of a HP 8270 scanner:

Using the ADF part is OK
Using the flat scan is making a infinite loop which display GLOB(0xabcdefg).

I'am using version 1.0.6 of gscan2pdf and 0.05 of libsane-perl module
I've attached the log file to the bug generated via --log option

  • There is nothing in the log file about the GLOB message.

    Please start gscan2pdf with

    gscan2pdf --debug > log 2>&1

to capture the error message, reproduce the problem, quit and post the log.

  • file with GLOB message attached (it was 70Mo large so I just let the first part with a bunch of GLOB)

  • It is difficult to see what is going wrong from the log. You are using the libsane-perl frontend. Do you have the same problem with the scanimage frontend (see Edit/Preferences)?

  • With the scanimage frontend the flat scanner is working but then the automatic document feeder is not detected.

  • Can you give me a log file after having tried to use the scanimage frontend to detect the ADF?
