while normal ripping/encoding gives error before
attempting to encode saying 'out of space in output
directory' when there is plenty of space. It
correctly creates the directories to store the
encoded files in but seems to refuse to try to write
the files.

My configuration:

i'm ripping to a local directory and writing the
encoded files over a smbmount to the computer with
the big hard drive. Looking at the space free on the
partition by something like df says there is not
enough space but this is wrong because the
subdirectory of the mount that the mp3s are in is
another partion on the storage machine that is big
enough. To my knowledge there is no way to tell free
space in this sort of configuration except to try
writing files. I would recommend an option to disable
your proactive free space check somewhere in the
config.
