The %R/%r options currently only give dB adjustment,
and then only if using the internal ripper (and if
enabled).
Since lame only accepts a multiplier value for the
adjustment, this means that you cannot use Grip's value
to tell lame to adjust the actual sample values prior
to compression (if you have an MP3 player that does not
understand the normalization header you need to do this).
Ideally, you could use the * and ! modifiers for this -
%!R would convert the dB value to a linear value (i.e.
pow(10.0,db/20.0).
Also, you do NOT initialize the gain values in the code
if either the internal ripper is not being used or if
the gain calculator is not run.
Lastly, an error ought to be thrown if %r or %R are
being used and either gain calculation is off or an
external ripper is being used.
