It would be very useful if you could make the confirmation "Do you want to save the screenshot?" optional.

I use GreenShot the whole day and most of the time I just take screen shots to keep the info visible as I complete some work. Or sometimes I need to take a screen shot of an original screen shot after I have added my notations to it. So it is not rare for me to have between 10 to more than 20 Greenshot editor windows open at once. When I try to close these windows I need to keep clicking NO on the confirmation "Do you want to save the screenshot?" dialog box for a very long time. So making this confirmation dialog box optional would be a time saver for me and I bet for a lot of users out there.

Another option which would be a time saver would be creating a screen shot in the editor dynamically by just clicking "Open in image editor" without the need to select it twice as it is done today. In fact you can only open the first screen shot this way, all the other screen shots afterwards requires the end user to select the arrow to the right of the window and click "Open In image editor" for a second time. I understand this option is available in case the end user would not care for the first screen shot and would like to override it. So perhaps a new option should be added, such as "Open in new image editor" which would allow the end user to open as many Image Editor windows as necessary without the need to click it twice.

Last thing: What about assigning hotkeys to Dinamic Captures?

Thank you very much for an excelent application.

    Hi Jay,

Within preferences --> expert tab, there is a checkbox "Suppress the save dialog when closing the editor".

I hope this helps with your first request.

    • Hi Sean-Colin,

Thank you so much for point it to me. Believe it or I actually looked for this feature within preferences and I obviously didn't look carefully enough.

This feature will save me so much time and frustration going forward.

      Thanks again! :)

    Hi Jay,
Sorry for not responding earlier, somehow we must have overlooked this :-(
Sean-Colin, thanks for jumping in ;-)

We should probably consider to put the option in a more obvious place in Greenshot 2..
I see what you mean about the new editor thing, but I am not quite sure what you are referring to with "dynamic capture"?

Thanks for your feedback, best regards,
    Jens :-)

  • Hi Jens,

No worries at all. You guys are doing an amazing work with GreenShot and I'm quite sure you have more on your plate than just this project! :)

I've re-submitted my second suggestion as "#677 Opening a screen shot dynamically in Image Editor with a single click after the first one" as I thought it would make sense to keep them separated.

As for the "dynamic capture" thingy please just scratch it off. On second thought it does not make sense since if the end user had already selected "Select destination dynamically", the "Destination" dialog box will open as soon as a screen shot is obtained. Please see attached screen shot. So it would not make much sense to add code to provide a hotkey to open the "destination" dialog box after all.

Thanks a lot for the follow up.

    Best regards,

    Jay

    Hi Jay,

Thanks for getting back to me (and thanks for the donation, btw:))

Also, thanks for extracting the other feature request - multi requests are often confusing.

Regarding "dynamic capture" - I think something similar has been requested before and we have something in mind called "capture flows", but so far it is just an idea, so I do not have a clue when to expect it...

We can close this ticket then, right?

Thanks again for your feedback and support, best regards,
    Jens :)

  • You are quite welcome Jens! Yep, please go ahead and close this ticket. Thank you.

    Cheers
