More for purpose of creating a caption (which Greenshot doesn't actually have), I take it that it's not possible to have line returns w/in a text box, so that each line (say, if using centered alignment), could contain only one sentence, etc., if desired.
Now, it has word wrap, but won't allow starting a new line w/ new sentence before reaching the end of the box, because hitting Enter ends editing & submits the object.
Is there any work around for this so caption type text boxes w/ one sentence (or a few words) per line is possible?
Yes, this is possible. Simply use Shift+Enter to create line breaks within text boxes.
Note to myself: add this piece of information to Greenshot's help.
Thanks. That will help create more noticeable, slightly more polished look, since GS doesn't have formal caption option, yet. I know it's early in development.
Since Shift + Enter is formatting option, SAME as center alignment, etc., maybe could add some mention (or link...) in text format drop boxes; add text icon tool tip or R click it; or link / mention for "Text Formatting Help"?
Version 1.1.5 is out. Still no mention I see of using Shift + Enter in text boxes to create line breaks. (I didn't remember it). Any reason can't use Enter for line break, like most apps' w/ text boxes? OLD Faststone 5.3 has that.
Sorry, you're right... I have just updated our online help and added an FAQ entry.
The reason for this behavior is that screenshot annotations are usually quite short, often not even a sentence; so there are good chances that most users want to finish editing the text instead of inserting a line break.
