Hi,

our users get the following warning: "A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow this?".
This comes up when greenshot is configured to "choose destination dynamically" and a screenshot is made. You don't have to click on "Microsoft Outlook", it's enough when you only see the destinations in the context menu of greenshot.

The warning blocks further usage of greenshot, and it's in background. So our users don't see why greenshot "hangs"... until you choose to deny or allow the access to Outlook.

We use Windows 7 Enterprise x64 and Office 2010 Prof Plus x86, both with latest Service Packs and patches. Greenshot is latest version 1.1.7.17 (64Bit).

Do you have any hints to get rid of this message?

Greetings
Stefan

    Hi,

I think this is related to Outlook and its security settings. Obviously this is meant to protect you of any malicious software sending out mails on your behalf.

I had coded a small program myself, which also required to send out mails via Outlook. This especially occurs when using the Interop library, which seems to be the case here as well. From the coding perspective, I am not sure if there are many ways to bypass this behavior.

Personally, I don't find it really annoying, but this probably depends on personal perception.

By the way, my respect to the developers. I really appreciate their contribution. I use Greenshot almost on a daily basis and to me this really is a life and time saver!

    Regards,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,

thanks for your reply. I think it's ok when the message comes up if anyone is clicking or using the Option "Microsoft Outlook". But the message appears when you hover over the option and don't click it.
That seems to be a bug ;-)

    Greetings
    Stefan
