Any idea how much memory this SHOULD require? The amount of memory needed depends on several factors, such as the build quantum depth (e.g. Q8, Q16, Q32). For a Q16 build, it seems to require 341.2M of RAM. Add -debug resource or -debug cache In order to obtain tracing which shows what is going on. You can also try -debug exception in order to obtain a detailed report of any errors with information about when/where they appeared. What operating system are you using? What GraphicsMagick version are you using? What does gm convert -list resources report?
