This allows me to create jpeg files. ....But after much experimentation I am still unable to create a valid dpx file. To summarize: Given my truly raw file data (generated from a program with no header, 1920x1080 16bit RGB data in planar format, the following command works gm convert -size 1920x1080 -depth 16 -endian lsb -interlace Plane rgb:"Z:\Temp\gm\PixelType_16Bit_RGB_Planar.raw" "Z:\Temp\gm\Converted.jpg" to create a jpeg file. Changing the suffix of the destination file from 'jpg' to 'tiff' or 'tga' works fine, creating each of those files as readable in every graphics application I have. However, changing the suffix to 'dpx' results in what appears to be a dpx file. -An attempt to load that dpx into photoshop results in the error "Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file." -Eyeon Fusion won't load the resulting dpx at all. -GMDisplay fails to load the image with the error: "IMDisplayDoc function [DoReadImage] reported an error. Magick: Unexpected end-of-file.......(ReadDPXImage)." -The graphicmagick utility gm identify -format '%[dpx:*]' "Z:\Temp\gm\Converted.dpx" returns: 'DPX:file.version=V2.0 DPX:file.filename=Z:\Temp\gm\Converted.dpx DPX:file.creator=GraphicsMagick 1.3.7 2009-09-17 Q16 http://www.GraphicsMagick.org/ DPX:image.orientation=0 DPX:source.filename=Z:\Temp\gm\PixelType_16Bit_RGB_Planar.raw' Any suggestions as to why the other formats might be working but DPX fails? It seems as though the DPX writer is completing the file. I've experimented with just about every flag I can think of in the docs (for DPX) but maybe I'm missing a combination somewhere....? graphicsmagick version is 1.3.7 2009-09-17 Q16, running under windows vista 64. -- Sam Marrocco Chief Technical Officer 248-548-2500 Main 248-910-3344 Cell "Just because no one understands you doesn't make you an artist."
