If the place authority is used, I agree, but as for now it looks like the place database will be an off-line thing, like everything else in Gramps, so there is no real shared ID here. You may recall that I referred to WeRelate.org earlier in this thread. I did that for a reason, knowing that Dallan has a place authority there, which itself relies on Getty and the LDS. And I think it's open source, so that in theory, it can be used for Gramps. regards, Enno |
