Hi Enno, My problem about next generations of linux desktops is oriented desktop server. A project like mir[1] gives a me a strange feeling. As we are still free to choose, my plan is rather to find an other road than next generation of Ubuntu versions (12.10, etc ...)!!! Yes, Linux Mint (Cinnamon), pantheon[3] or any other desktop shell, and a common display server protocol for next generations of linux desktops.
