Yes, I think addons will get much more exposure, and more quickly this way. Now, when a new addon is added or updated, you can see it the next time you start gramps. > I would like to point out a few things to enhance it: > 1) I believe that it should be split into two pieces > a) Update engine > 2) New addons engine > > The updates should be able to be set to automatically update if the user > wants it. Just like Firefox from mozilla download gives you the option to > automatically download updates... Yes, that's an interesting option. Let's take it slow, though, and in this initial version allow people to see what is new, and allow them to decline. After all, these won't change too often, and all it takes is a click on "Apply". You can sort on "Type" if you want to see the New versus Updated addons. > Tyhe new addons should have an ability to select/ deselect all. I just added it to trunk. > I believe that these two things should be separated just like Firefox is! > You can choose when you want to add addons separated from the updates... You can select just the new items, just the updated items, or both in Preferences. There should probably be a "hide" so that you never have to consider a choice that you decide against. Currently, to not see the option to update in an addon that you don't want you need to install it, and then hide it in the Plugin Manager. -Doug > Sincerely yours, > Rob G.
