I'm running Ubuntu Edgy and Gramps. I wanted to get rid of the "Database not portable" message, so I installed python2.5. I still got the message so I dug deeper and found that /usr/bin/python still pointed to python2.4. I changed that link but that broke the upgrade manager! After switching the link back to python2.4, I then edited the gramps startup shell script (just type "which gramps" to find it and changed the line: exec /usr/bin/python $GRAMPSDIR/gramps.py "$@" to exec /usr/bin/python2.5 $GRAMPSDIR/gramps.py "$@" hth |
