Yes, it looks like 2.1 has a problem with adding witnesses etc. to events. With 2.0.x I could e.g. add a spouse. marriage event dialog pops up. add marriage event data click witness tab add witnesses, either from the database or not In 2.1 I must: Add the spouse Add the marriage event Save the stuff Edit the witness On his/her event tab, search for the marriage event Select the wedding Change role to witness Save the stuff The new approach is tedious at best. I much prefer the witness tab in 2.0.x. Plus 2.0 allows me to enter a witness *not* in my database. I already have several of those and wonder how they will be migrated. Finding an event to add to a person is a problem in general, since the list is only sorted by description and the search only works on the description. Like Jim, I do not have many event descriptions. In fact, most of the ones I *do* have are for occupation events, where I put the occupation (farmer, doctor, etc) in the description field. This means scrolling through the list looking for my new marriage event. On a large list, this can take several minutes, as Jim noted. Suggestions: 1. Restore the witness tab (call it something else if you like -- "other participants"?) for events, including witnesses not in the database. Include the role dropdown. 2. when you do want to add an existing event to a person, the dialog to find the event to all needs improvement: -- allow sorting by description, id, type, date, etc, (both forward and reverse) -- allow searching by the sort fields e.g if I sort by date, searching on "Jan 1 2000" would skip to that section of the list -- allow filtering by the various event fields like you can from the main event list screen. I would extend item 2 to all instances where you can select things from a list (e.g. adding people to a family, adding sources to an event, etc). We need to be able to sort on each column, search by the sort column and filter the display.
