next month am i going to start a cycle about genealogy for my library users.
During 4 following saturday, i will teach users about genealogy researches, genealogy programs and internet and genealogy.
For the genealogy software section, my goal is to give users general rules (interoperability, open-source, gedcom standards, etc)
The software i will ask them to install is Gramps (Gramps 3.2.5 (AIO v.5)) (i a linux only user at home but we still use windows in the library).
Personally, i'm a Webtrees user because i believe genealogy has to be "based-shared" but i use local software for printing and report purposes; i agree that most users will not be able to manage an internet software.
What I'm looking for is:
- a sample gedcom file to explain Gramps
- a french language printable manual (did not understand how to print wiki sections)
- if french users around Lille know much about Gramps, they are welcome ;) !
