I recently upgraded to 3.0. Which, of course, changed everything. Well not quite. I was surprised to see that the supposedly new Web Narrative source pages are still dated two months ago when I was using 2.0. That is, Gramps has apparently not re-generated them. Is there something I should have done that I didn't. Or is something else going on here? |

It is because of re-running the narrative web site tool that EVERY page (other than the individual source pages) was re-dated and that I became aware of the difference. As I said, it would appear that Gramps did NOT re-generate them. The issue is why not. In case it is significant I should perhaps underline that I said the "individual" source pages. I don't know what to call it but the "master" source page - the one listing the sources - WAS regenerated. Gerald Britton wrote: > Did you rerun the narrative web site tool? So if you've bookmarked one of the AG236SG3436F25G2DGDF.html filenames, then you're still looking at the old file. Generating a new set of NarrativeWeb pages with the new filenames wont change the old files. I suggest you load up index.html and you should see just the new files. And/or, delete the old directories and files before you generate the new ones. Stéphane |

That may be so Stèphane, but that's not the reason. I haven't bookmarked anything. I am going to the individual pages from the source "master page". Which I think I already said WAS re-dated ... and therefore (presumably) re-generated. That said I've poked around some more ... and wonder if the problem may be concerning the img files! Both Gallery and Source lead to img files. As far as I can tell, there are no issues with any of the Gallery images (i.e. they have been regenerated/redated) but none of the Source images have been touched. Does this clarify what the issue might really be? Allan Stéphane Charette wrote: >> As I said, it would appear that Gramps did NOT re-generate them. Clear the browser cache? But I'm certain the filenames are different, so if you delete your entire narrative web directory, re-generate the pages, and start with index.html, I think you'll find it works. The upgrade resulted from upgrading to ubuntu 8.04 ... which automatically upgraded Gramps too - how efficaciously I can't be sure. That said there is only one file called NarrativeWeb.py in the plugins folder. Although there is another file called NarrativeWeb.py.save also there - provenance unknown. For what it's worth I have subsequently verified that the problem was more particularly that Gramps was not re-generating the img files for Source gallery images on the Source pages. The Individual Gallery images seem to be just fine. Could it be that my NarrativeWeb.py file is somehow corrupted? Perhaps if someone could direct me to a known good one - or send it to me - that would be worth trying? Benny Malengier wrote: > 2009/3/15 Allan Topp <at...@nc...> > > >> I recently upgraded to 3.0. For the version of 3.0.x: http://gramps.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/gramps/branches/gramps30/src/plugins/NarrativeWeb.py?view=log just hit download next to the last revision and save that over the old file as root However, I suggest you backup your family trees and just grab the 3.1.1 804.deb version on our website: https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=25770&package_id=109309 and install that with your package manager. If you have to relearn the interface a bit, just skip a major version and go to the latest. Benny |

O.k. I've downloaded and installed NarrativeWeb.py from source, re-run the Narrative Web report. And still have the same problem. The img files from Source(s) have not been re-generated.
