While attempting tonight to get the beta package done for Gramps 3.2, I ran into this new error: bg.po:19955: `msgid' and `msgstr' entries do not both end with '\n' bg.po:19961: `msgid' and `msgstr' entries do not both end with '\n' /usr/bin/msgfmt: found 2 fatal errors In both of those cases, I removed the trailing \n to get past the error, but did not commit to svn. Boril, are you still the translator for Bulgarian? If so, can you have a look at this? I fixed this with rev 14564, now fanchart is part of Makefile, and POTFILES, so that error should be gone. It does mean Jerome will rebuild gramps.pot to have the new strings of the fanchart registration, but that should not hold the beta. For the beta this is not an issue now. Nick, you where looking at the pedigree views. Did you have the time? Do we remove old pedigree? I have a way for checking compilation before commit and without command line for GNU gettext tools. poedit provides an option for generating a compiled gettext file (mo) just after saving the translation source (po). xx.po are saved but you get a dialog into program, something like "error on line ... cannot generate .mo" Can someone look at other gettext editors (Lokalize, prefered editors). It could be a good thing to enable this options and add this tip on wiki. http://www.gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=Translating_GRAMPS#Tips_for_translators Jérôme --- En date de : Mar 2.3.10, Stéphane Charette <ste...@gm...> a écrit : > De: Stéphane Charette <ste...@gm...> > Objet: [Gramps-devel] Gramps 32 beta - build errors > À: "gramps-devel" <gra...@li...>, "Boril Gourinov" <bor...@gm...> > Date: Mardi 2 mars 2010, 8h38 > While attempting tonight to get the > beta package done for Gramps 3.2, > I ran into this new error: > > bg.po:19955: `msgid' and `msgstr' entries do > not both end with '\n' > bg.po:19961: `msgid' and `msgstr' entries do > not both end with '\n' > /usr/bin/msgfmt: found 2 fatal errors > > In both of those cases, I removed the trailing \n to get > past the > error, but did not commit to svn. Committed revision 14590. I hope there is no errors. I've checked it twice. Ok, next attempt. :) Tried to get the beta package together again tonight. Got a bit further this time. Looks like some recent changes related to pedigreeviewext.py are causing a problem: make[2]: *** No rule to make target `../../src/plugins/view/pedigreeviewext.py', needed by `gramps.pot'. Stop. make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/stephane/gramps32/gramps-3.2.0/_build/po' make[1]: *** [check-recursive] Error 1 I do have that file, so I'm not certain what the error means: $ dir src/plugins/view/pedigreeview.py -rw-r--r-- 1 stephane stephane 65K 2010-02-21 18:47 src/plugins/view/pedigreeview.py $ svn up At revision 14620. Nick removed that file yesterday, as there where two pedviews. He forgot to remove it from po/POTFILES.in though, that is why you see the error. I updated POTFILES.in, this error should be fixed. Firing up the gramps dev VM one more time to try and get the beta packaged up. Stay tuned. Stéphane |

Sorry, I forgot about POTFILES.in - Benny, thanks for fixing this. There is no extended pedigree view in either gramps32 or trunk now. The pedigree view in trunk is the extended pedigree view and the old pedigree view has been removed. We don't intend the extended pedigree view to be part of this next release. Nick. > make[2]: *** No rule to make target > `../../src/plugins/view/pedigreeviewext.py', needed by > `gramps.pot'. Stop. There is no more pedigreeviewext.py on po/POTFILE.in on trunk only ! http://gramps.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/gramps/trunk/po/POTFILES.in?r1=14565&r2=14619 We also need to remove them on 3.2 branch. Note, po/po_test.py could sometimes help us to check what is missing or wrong on references (Makefile.am, POTFILE.in). Also to run 'intltool-update -m'.
