To Whom It May Concern: I opened the Gramps programs and double-clicked on one person's name and the error occurred. Previously, I upgraded Gramps from 3.3.1 to 3.4, the database was upgraded/converted and ever since the upgrade various errors have been occurring. It appears that not all of information in the database prior to the upgrade/conversion were transferred (no birthdays, date of death or other dates are listed) Error Details: =================== 1956: WARNING: Spell.py: line 60: Spelling checker is not installed102042: ERROR: gramps.py: line 178: Unhandled exception Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/gramps/gui/views/listview.py", line 747, in _button_press self.edit(obj) File "/usr/share/gramps/plugins/lib/libpersonview.py", line 282, in edit EditPerson(self.dbstate, self.uistate, [], person) File "/usr/share/gramps/gui/editors/editperson.py", line 131, in __init__ dbstate.db.get_person_from_gramps_id, callback) File "/usr/share/gramps/gui/editors/editprimary.py", line 84, in __init__ self._setup_fields() File "/usr/share/gramps/gui/editors/editperson.py", line 403, in _setup_fields self.db.readonly) File "/usr/share/gramps/gui/widgets/monitoredwidgets.py", line 754, in __init__ self.tag_list.append((handle, tag.get_name())) AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_name' System Information: =================== Python version: 2.7.2+ (default, Oct 4 2011, 20:03:08) [GCC 4.6.1] BSDDB version: 4.8.4.1 (4, 8, 30) Gramps version: 3.4.0-1 LANG: en_US.UTF-8 OS: Linux Distribution: 3.0.0-21-generic GTK version : (2, 24, 6) pygtk version : (2, 24, 0) gobject version: (2, 28, 6) cairo version : (1, 8, 8) |

Hello Dan, The bug list is only sporadically checked. Please post bugs on the bug tracker, http://www.gramps-project.org/bugs/ It seems the conversion did not succeed in your case? Did you see errors during conversion? Did you have a backup? If not, back up your grampsdb folder immediately (see preferences, path to database setting) Next, export to .gramps xml without privacy filtering. Hopefully that works. Then import this .gramps file in a new empty family tree. Normally there should no longer be errors, and you can check what data is missing. The error you have here is on missing tag information.
