A quick view should not change data in GRAMPS.
That is, you can make one for yourself that changes data, but in GRAMPS you will not find that.
It is important to keep some consistency, and if everything can do everything, the code becomes a mess quickly. For changing data, a Tool should be used instead.

You should not share events too much. I'm pondering some ideas to show 'related events' in the event view of a family and a person. Anyway, it is not wrong to do it, things might just become crowded in some reports with things repeated.

The references tab does not allow add/delete, because that would add again another workflow in how GRAMPS can be used. We already have too many.
To share an event between people, copy the event to the clipboard via drag and drop, then drag and drop it on the people you want to add the event to too.

Just to ad an other idea for a solution of my own request:
Why do we not have an add-person, add-family and remove button on the
reference tab of the event window?
If I'm working on any event I just want to decide to share it with other
people or families. (And as others I prefer to make my own decisions which
events shall be shared or not. So an automated viewing seems to me not
really good.)

Finally I'm not sure what is the best and simplest solution. May the
quick-view is not the best place for other actions than open a related
