So what does this have to do with GRAMPS? Gramps is a free genealogy application ( http://gramps-project.org/ ), with which people can make family trees, generate websites. We allow hosting of trees on our webservers too, but have no connection to the people providing web pages with family trees.
Hello Gramps users,
Subject: Carsberg Family and connections to Daniel, Andrews, Clarke, Wohlmann.
Help please? I am a new arrival to Gramps and I am Robin Carsberg firstname.lastname@example.org writing from England.
I recently came across the Gramps database during a routine web search for the Carsberg name which I am researching. I was very excited to find a link through to the Lending The Way Family History Site which had references to the Carsberg Family in the Wohlmann lines that are shared with my research. The problem I am asking for help with is that I can't seem to contact anyone to start a discussion about our research. In the Lending The Way (http://www.lendingtheway.com/ ) site I can only find one vague reference to a contact e mail address and this bounces. Can anyone tell me how to achieve this contact and discussion please?
I am Robin Carsberg and am descended from George Nicholas Carsberg born c 1740 and married to Sarah Moone. It is their son George Carsberg, married to Elizabeth Peake who seems to be the first link between our tree and the Daniel, Andrews, Clarke, Wohlmann line. I am trying to find out where George Nicholas was born, so far without luck. It seems likely that he came to England from somewhere in Europe and family rumour has it that it might have been Sweden. It could equally well have been Germany or elsewhere. He was a Surgical Instrument Maker and seems to have worked for a Mr George Savingy of the Haymarket, London, before starting his own business. I have a fairly large tree created in Legacy Family Tree format (available as a Gedcom file) and am also a member of genes Reunited www.genesreunited.co.uk If it is possible I would very much like to make contact with your contributors to share and further our research and look forward to hearing from you.
