Good morning All:

i do not know if this is a simple problem that I am having or is it a complex one?  nevertheless, i would like to get some help if possible?  I appreciate your time and effort in my behalf...

I have this variable called place_lat_long, that its contents are something like this:

[['45.22204500', '-123.17772000', u'McMinnville Hospital, McMinnville, Oregon, USA'], ['47.15378000', '-122.10826000', u'Buckley, Pierce, Washington, USA'], ['45.22204500', '-123.17772000', u'McMinnville Hospital, McMinnville, Oregon, USA'], ['47.15378000', '-122.10826000', u'Buckley, Pierce, Washington, USA'], ['44.05766000', '-121.31554900', u'Bend, Deschutes County, Oregon, USA'], ['47.15378000', '-122.10826000', u'Buckley, Pierce, Washington, USA'], ['47.17886600', '-122.28926100', u'Good Samaritan Hospital, Puyallup, Washington, USA'], ['47.15378000', '-122.10826000', u'Buckley, Pierce, Washington, USA']]

if I were to do something like this:

for (latitude, longitude, place_title) in place_lat_long:
print(latitude, longitude, placename) , you can understand what it is....

My issues are these:

1) I would like to take out the duplicates
2) sort it based upon latitude and longitude

Could anyone help me?  If you need further information from me to understand what I am trying to do, please write me with your questions.  I will try to answer them?

Sincerely yours,
Rob G. Healey

BTW, in the python code, there is no problem with it doing the dupicates, but it is sloppy and unneccessary to re-do the same thing multiple times...
