The remote mode is really nice. But it have some major drawbacks. The xpdf program implements it in a better way. When you start a "remote server" you provide a name and in the next calls you provide the same name. In this way the user can have more than one copy of the program, one manually used and the other/s used by programs. It also gives more freedom to the program that's controling gqview: it can safetly ask for quit without colsing a window opened by the user.
Other options to control gqview:
* hide file list (Ctrl+H)
* fit in the window (Z)
Should have a remote control option.
With it the controlling program could provide a better look of the image.
