Everythings seems to work perfect on the Nokia C7 if I set GpsMid not to use Cellids,
But if I try to use Cellids, just after the starting screen on GpsMid this message apears several times:

"Failed to open connection to a local helper daemon: java.io.IOException: Unable to open socket connection. POSIX error code: -61: Unable to open socket connection. POSIX error code: -61"

How can I make it work?
Warm regards.

Have you checked if it works despite the error messages? On Nokia S60r3 for example, CellID support (mostly) works despite the error message (I get the message only once).

The system is that CellID support tries to find a method to get a cellid which works. You get the message when GpsMid tries to connect to a python script cellid helper running on the phone and fails. (Would be a good idea not to show the message or show it so it doesn't look like something when badly wrong, as cellid can work despite the message). After the socket connection fails, on the S60r3 phones GpsMid falls back to using a different system to get cellid.

Don't know why you get several messages though.

There are some instructions in the wiki to install the cell id helper, don't know if they work for Symbian^3: https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/gpsmid/index.php?title=OpenCellID

It's also possible there might be a different way to access cellid info on Symbian^3 which could be added to GpsMid.
