No

If GPSMid in in full screen mode, the Menu select key losts its functionality.

It would be handy to be still able to go to manu directly from fullscreen. ( as e.g. in Trekbuddy app ).
I know single key press 0 is easy, but I do not like the screen redrawing.

I think it would easy way of speeding up the GUI, removing the need of display resizing.

It should not be difficult tweak and it would serve greatly for user comfort.

It's definitely difficult as there are many differences between J2ME devices here.

E.g. on SE C702 iirc menu key works already in full screen mode.

Hm, strange, but I am not a developer
and in SW everything is possible, so I believe you.

As there was no comment, i have thought the FR just felt into dust......

In Trekbuddy the same menu key works in fullscreen mode on S60v3 Nokia e52,
but the fact is they have extra built for symbian s60.

    It is a pity.

Maybe we could use keycode -12 for this in full screen mode, -12 seems to be the keycode for menu on Nokia. What should it do, show the icon menu, I guess?

If so, please add to a GpsMid.jar in keymap.txt at the end (in special key section):
    ; Nokia Menu Key = ICON_MENU
    -12 50

(and thorougly check if everything related to menu key works, also in non-full-screen mode - then maybe we can commit this.)

    Hm, funny.
I modified the keymap.txt in JAR, and than JAR size in JAD.....
Accesing menu in normal mode was still fine.
But accesing menu from full screen did not work as before.....

.. until I tried by change not the left menu key as usually,
but the key below it - the call picking key.
And the menu was accessible from there.

Tried also on other, not modified midlet.
From normal screen the menu is accessible by both Menu and Call picking up key,
From full screen only by Call picking up key.

So, it seems that the modification does not make any effect,
but by chance it has lead me to exploration the menu access from full screen is working anyway.

    That's what I meant with being very device-dependent :)

But probably the left button is simply the fire button which also opens the icon menu - and is on some devices the same as the menu key ;)

Hm, exactly. Fire buttun acts by the same way as the left Picku up key - opens the menu anytime.
Left Menu key is on Nokia E52 different and opens only if not in Full screen.

So I suppose the FR can be closed, unless you want it keep open,
if other devices have similar issue not resolved.

Interesting is, why I had never the idea to try other buttons ? :-)
