The Microchip enhanced midrange family has become a mature product line over the last several years. Parts ranging from the 12F1822 to the 16F1947 have upgraded instruction set, architecture, and periperals over the baseline 16F family. Currently Microchip MPLABX product only has limited simulation support for this family. gpsim offers no support. I have taken a look at the gpsim source, and it's unclear to me if extending the 14bit instruction set or pruning the 16bit instruction set/architecture is the path for implementing the enhanced 16F simulation. Having moved exclusively into this family for project, the dearth of simulation support is challenging.

Core class for 14bit enhanced processors has been committed along with a very incomplete 12f1822 implementation which allows testing of core features.

With the exception of the digital signal modulator, the p12f1822 and p16f1823 are now fairly completely support. Raise bug reports for deficiencies in these implementations or new feature requests for other enhanced processors. And of course patches for new processors welcome.
