Hello, I have a gpx file containing multiple tracks. I would like to generate a single file for every track, with a name something like %Y-%m-%d-#Track.gpx Is there a way to do this using a simple perl/python/bash script? Alternatively, it would also be nice to have a script that splits the file into days; every file then contains at least one track. A file of a given date should contain all tracks that begin at the date specified by the filename. Could anyone give me a little example how to do this? Thanks a lot! |

It isn't something we support. On Dec 26, 2009 2:03 PM, "Björn Nadrowski" <bjr...@go...> wrote: Hello, I have a gpx file containing multiple tracks. A friend of mine wrote a script to do (something like) that: <http://blog.dinotools.de/2008/11/24/einzelne-tracks-aus-gpx-dateien-extrahieren> The text is german, but i hope the code is self-explaining. I had a similar probelm to this a few months ago, and wrote a real bad piece of code to solve the problem, I'd be happy ot help you with it if you like. In my case I was trying to output a diferent file for each day from a very long input file. The idea was to use the xcvs style sheet to make a cvs file with a the date as the fist field, then used a bash script to put each line into the correct file. then convert the file back to a useable format using babel. the results were good, if a little slow. Seems as if this a much sought-after feature.... best regards Erik |
