Hi all, I would like to import aviation data into Mapsource. On http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-development/fmt_garmin_txt.html I read : "The main goal of garmin_txt is to make aviation data more available. Because MapSource supports only the export, GPSBabel gives you the possibility to bring aviation data into MapSource." Could someone explain to me how to proceed ? Once in Mapsource, is it then possible to upload aviation data into a non-aviation GPS device ? Thanks. Brice |

It depends on what your expectations are. It's not like this format is going to magically create VOR data, for example. It's a pretty straight-forward format that's plain ole text - exactly like what Mapsource lets you write, but not read - that we can read or write. So if you are trying to build a flight path and bring that into Mapsource, you can create a file like this and then use GPSBabel to bring it into Mapsource or your GPS or whatever. I don't really see any avaiation-specific mojo here. Olaf, can you better explain what that sentence in the doc is about?
