GPSBabel can read a variety of formats that can be written by Excel.
The CSV strains are probably the easiest.
Formatting a file to be used by our unicsv reader is probably the
place to start.

GPSBabel writes several formats that Mapsource can read.

Mapsource can read mps, gdb, gpx, and a few others.
