I wonder about a minor detail, when uploading routes to my Garmin
ForeRunner with gpsbabel instead of using Garmins browser plugin.
Namely a "gpsbabel -r -i gpx -f test.gpx -o garmin -F usb:" pushes the
corresponding routepoints to the device. If these have individual names,
like "001","002", ... in the GPX-file, they are later on also visible as
waypoints in the list view of the device.
Alternatively, if the individual names are missing, gpsbabel synthesizes
names "RPT001", "RPT002", ... which are also occuring in the waypoint
list. Finally, when I tried to explicitly omit the name by existing, but
empty (<name></name>) tags, the ForeRunner complains about incomplete
In contrast to all these trials, the Garmin plugin pushes routes also
with sequential routepoints "001", "002", ... but without any waypoints.
Thus my question is finally how I can force gpsbabel to show the same
behaviour as the plugin, while also an optional "snlen=0" argument shows
no effect :-(
Thanks a lot,
