I've been watching the occasional mailing list email about problems
with GPSBabel "aborting" when trying to deal with Google Maps.
I've been having the same problem (current release version as well as
the current CVS), but I've got a possible piece of the puzzle here.
It looks like the problem may be related to the new "drag to change
route" feature. I followed the normal directions to download
the default route Google Maps gave me, and GPSBabel handles that
okay. If I drag the route to make it more direct (against Google's
fetish for sticking to interstates as much as possible) and follow
the same directions, GPSBabel gives me the uninformative "Aborted"
message with no other output.
(Even with -D 9, it gives me the GPSBabel version and "Aborted". No
I'm not sure what the drag-to-change-route option is doing to the
resulting URL data, but it looks like that may be what the problem is.
If it'd help, I'm sure I could generate some before-and-after
URLs for testing.
