scanning the features list I noticed there is no support for any Garmin
interface or format - which I think is a real missing link.
While I am not in the knowledge and leisure state to implement that
myself I'd just like to point those interface gurus in here to the
Garmin Utilities by Marc Hyman, that are available as Open Source, and
written in C. So it should be sensible to start where Marc already is: I
frequently uploaded my routes to the GPS-12 by means of his utility.
Marc's address is marc@... Don't have his web page address at
hand right now (sorry).
P.S.: Didn't read any discussion about my 1st documentation proposal!

Are you asking about tracks and routes in Garmin serial protocol?
There is actually track download support present.
Route support is present in libjeeps but it's not hooked up to garmin.c.
It'd probably only a few dozen lines of code for someone with a Garmin
that has motivation to do it.

Intution and google tell us that it is:
His code is simpler than what's in libjeeps, but it doesn't support the
variety of receivers that jeeps does. OTOH, given the implementation
problems I've had with libjeeps, I'm not sure I'd do it over again.
But I'm also not going to attempt a port of code like that to Windows
without a unit in hand; I'd come closer to blindly hooking up the jeeps
stuff and then working with someone -remotely if necessary- to finalize
