Nasty indeed. My /usr/share/dict/words has 235,000 words in it. That
case takes forever to run; I thought something had broken.
Also, useless use of cat award:
WORDS=`cat $DICT | wc -l`
WORDS=`wc -l < $DICT`
without loss of portability.

I was both proud of and horrified by that. :-)
How about we move that from testo into a separate 'torture' target?
Then we can add GPX validation and some of those other horrible things
that we need to do once in a while but not every time we touch anything.
I'll sling the bits if you think that's worthwhile.
