If nobody on the GPSBabel forum picks this up, I would suggest heading over to http://www.gpsu.co.uk/index.html which I see supports the file format you are struggling with.

Whether the free version can handle the files is another matter of course. I gather they impose size limits.

Thanks for the reply, I have just finished testing one of my files against all of the formats available with no luck in finding one that works.
The file is definitely binary and seems to have a pattern running through it.
I am not a programmer so wouldn't know how to start doing any reverse engineering on it.
What is the proceedure with this site for getting someone to have a crack at it.
I have attached a sample maybe someone has seen an example of this before, the GPS is a Maxsea.
