Try mount /proc/bus/usb/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alberto (drunkbit) Date: 2003-01-15 01:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=633876 > What is the content of /proc/bus/usb/devices ? My /proc/bus/usb directory is empty (using Debian Sid). Should I install some extra package? > For serial use, have you tried using the "Samsung Digimax 800k" driver ? Yes, and Gtkam says "Cannot initialize camera". I have tried almost all the serial camera models on the gphoto library without positive results. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hubert Figuiere (hfiguiere) Date: 2003-01-15 00:53 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=27487 So what is that: >Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... >usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage >USB Mass Storage support registered. What is the content of /proc/bus/usb/devices ? This should tell us all about that. For serial use, have you tried using the "Samsung Digimax 800k" driver ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alberto (drunkbit) Date: 2003-01-15 00:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=633876 About the USB Mass Storage, I have tried it, but this camera isn't compatible. This is what I get from dmesg when I load the driver and connect the camera: Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage USB Mass Storage support registered. hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 3 usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x839/0x1003) is not claimed by any active driver. I suppose that the camera may be claimed by usb-storage to be compatible. The only method I have found to read the images on linux whith no extra hardware (card reader) is using WINE and the serial cable. It takes soooo long to download a picture but it works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2003-01-11 17:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 http://www.samsungcamera.it/210d.asp is its homepage. The driver inf file has: [STW] %USB\VID_0839&PID_1003.DeviceDesc%=Coach, USB\VID_0839&PID_1003 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hubert Figuiere (hfiguiere) Date: 2003-01-11 16:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=27487 lot of recent Samsung cameras seems to be USB Mass Storage devices. Can you try with this one (by mounting it) ? Thanks a lot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alberto (drunkbit) Date: 2002-10-26 20:43 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=633876 If you need a beta-tester for this model of camera, feel free to contact me at alb...@wa... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hubert Figuiere (hfiguiere) Date: 2002-09-06 16:43 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=27487 please, provide documentation for the protocol used by this camera and a sample camera so that one of the developer can do the job. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=358874&aid=605595&group_id=8874 |
