Running 1.2.4 on Vista 32-bit. Installed it yesterday and was working. Booted up today and when googsystray starts, I get this error:

Hrm this has been reported before. I'm not sure what causes it.. It happens on startup every time?

Yes, I tried running it after the startup try and got the same thing. I tried reinstalling the program and it still gives the error on startup. Uninstalling and then reinstalling gives a slightly different error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "googsystray\GConf.pyc", line 329, in ok
File "googsystray\GMain.pyc", line 976, in start

File "googsystray\GKeyring.pyc", line 222, in get_creds
File "googsystray\GKeyring.pyc", line 118, in get_creds
File "ctypes\__init__.pyc", line 496, in string_at
WindowsError: exception: access violation reading 0x00000000

But then subsequent runs give the first error message. Let me know if you want me to try anything else.

I've just put up a new nightly-build (I fixed the startup problem that we were talking about it in the forums)... Can you try that and see if it has this error too?

On my Vista-32 machine, the crash on load doesn't seem to be fixed. It still crashes without throwing any errors. I tried installing the nightly build (even with uninstalling first) and it still crashes without errors.

Is there anything in: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp\googsystray.err.log when it fails? I could reproduce the crash before, but it works for me now.

Hrm, I had a windows XP VM... it looks like the new executables won't run on XP... at all... so I will try to get that working. I upgraded a bunch of libraries... It works on Win7 tho...

I download and install googsystray-1.2.999-101111.exe
No start, no error message.
What's this?

Can you check: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local
Settings\Temp\googsystray.err.log to see if there's any messages?

Ah. Interesting. Fixed. I just triggered another build -- when you see 1.2.1000 go up, (probably be about 10-15 minutes), try that one. Can I ask what country you're in? (The bug triggered on an error message for an unknown country)

The 1.2.0000 start OK, no error.
