You have to remember to use "" quotes, not '' ones, though. well, actually it does work, you're right! But the second line doesn't appear (in X11) as no space is reserved. Try set xtics ("fred\nhello" 1) plot x*x --> "hello" does not appear. set xlabel "hi" rep --> "hello" appears, as the xlabel reserves more space. -- Johannes |
