Example 1 :
every ::last # selects last point in each block

Example 2 :
every ::last-1 # selects last 2 points in each block

Example 3 :
every :::last # selects just the last block

Example 4 :
every ::last:last # selects last point in the last block

Example 5 :
every ::last-2:last-3 # selects last 3 points in the last 4 blocks

    While it would be useful to have functionality like this, it'd be very hard to implement. You see, gnuplot reads files sequentially, and it doesn't know anything about the end of the file or the end of a block until it encounters them. To do what you want, the program would have to go over the file twice, once to mark and store which points to plot according to your 'every' specification, and once to actually plot those points. But there is no guaranty that the file's contents haven't changed between the two reads.
