    hi, Im installing from CVS
    when i run ./prepare

src/Makefile.am:27: gnuplot_SOURCES defined both conditionally and unconditionally

Some part of the preparation process failed.
Please refer to INSTALL for details.

is this a bug or do I need to do something?

    using:
    Ubuntu 6.06
    automake (GNU automake) 1.4-p6
    autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.59

    Thanks
    D

    • You automake is *way* too old.  You need something much newer than that.

        Cleaning up...OK

        Bye.

        --------
For some reason it's turning spaces into "â" but this only kicks in on around line 1415
what is cousing this. (in vi, everything looks grand)

        Thanks
