Hi all,

1/ I get garbage plots using the latest gp440 (downloaded gp440win32.zip today, simply unzipped & opened wgnuplot.exe ; nothing modified) on Windows Vista.
Attached are a data file and two .png figures ; one created with gp426 and one with gp440 as indicated in the filename. Gp440 produces utterly bizarre results ; these are the same in different terminals (I tried wxt, windows, png, ...).

Commands used (in a freshly opened terminal) :
se te png
se ou 'plot440.png'
p 'ldos01btrimmed.dat' u 1:3 w l

2/ Using the jpg terminal in gp440, the output file (say plot440.jpg) is created but no data is written to it when using the 'plot' command - file size remains 0 bytes.

If I'm doing something dumb that's causing these problems, feel free to say so.
Thanks for any ideas,

Kevin Jorissen

The numbers in your data file use Fortran D format. Since checking every input value for both D format and E format doubles the time required for data input, and D format is relatively rare, this is no longer the default. Tell gnuplot:

    set datafile fortran

    and all will be well.
