#72 Segmentation fault when specifying float array

I can specify an array of integers by

GDL> intArray = [1,2,3,4]

but when I try to do it for floating numbers with

GDL> floatArray = [1.1, 2.5, 4.3]

I get a Segmentation fault.

Inputting a floating array like this works in the IDL
6.0 that I have on the same computer.

This is, for me at lest, quite a significant problem.

could you please give more informations (OS, GDL version
(CVS or not)). I cannot reproduce that on a quasi up-to-date
    GDL 0.9 version
    on Linux 64b

    Sorry.

I have GDL version 0.8.11 installed (the latest version
available in Portage) on my Gentoo Linux system. I'm only
    running a PIII 500MHz, so its 32b. I'm using a 2.6.17.11
kernel (which I doubt has much to do with it).

One thing that I have noticed is that when I start GDL I get
    the following:
% Error opening startup file: ~/.idl_startup.pro

    My ~/.idl_startup.pro contains:

    defpath = expand_path('+/usr/local/rsi/idl')+':'
    ljrpath =
    expand_path('+/home/lachlan/documents/honours/project/idlCode')+':'
    !path = defpath + ljrpath
    !p.multi=0
    !p.position=0

Let me know if there is any more information that would be
helpful. Perhaps I should just work out how to use the CVS
version and forget Portage for GDL.

The copy and paste didn't quite work. There is no newline
after the "=" for defpath and ljrpath in my ~/.idl_startup.pro

    I cannot reproduce this error.
Please try to install the GDL from source.
    Repost if the error persists.

    Regards,
    Marc
