I've been running gdl but then just did an update with macports. Now I get:
Segmentation fault: 11
GDL - GNU Data Language, Version 0.9.3
However, it starts up fine from an xterm window.
Difficult to help you without more details !
(and I don't have access to a OSX with macport,
only basic account for compilation)
Does the X11 server started before ?
Which version of OSX ??
Thanks Alain. I understand it is difficult to solve especially as it probably is due to another component that was updated by Macports rather than gdl directly. I've submitted just to let people know there is a problem. I tried to compile gdl directly but don't have enough familiarity with the compilation to understand why it failed.
I'm on OSX 10.7.5
blue boxes are not in French !
here on a computer I am not root, I can compiled using:
ProductName: Mac OS X
$ ../../cmake-2.8.6/bin/cmake .. -DPLPLOTDIR=/Users/coulais/GDL/plplot-5.9.9/Compilation/ -DNETCDF=OFF -DHDF=OFF -DHDF5=OFF -DPSLIB=OFF -DWXWIDGETS=off -DEIGEN3DIR=/Users/coulais/GDL/Eigen3/Eigen3.1.2/ -DMAGICK=OFF
1/ you need a recent "cmake"
2/ you need to compile also a recent plplot (5.9.9)
3/ Eigen3 is not mandatory, just for fun
4/ IM or GM are not mandatory to test
All the other libraries are present (readline, gsl ...)
We also succeed to compile with CLang
with more information, we cannot help you.
Please open a new bug report entry when more information
on this topic.
We submitted to packagers requests for 0.9.4 but they experience
various technical issues not all related to GDL. I hope
you will soon have a new mac port version. Compiling the CVS
is not that difficult.
