When configure is remade with autoconf 2.69 and automake 1.13, the tests fail with:

make[3]: Leaving directory `/builddir/build/BUILD/gdl-0.9.3/build/testsuite'
fatal: making test-suite.log: failed to create test_angles.pro.trs
....

This appears to be due to automake (?) shifting to parallel test by default instead of serial, and the serial tests not working.

http://www.gnu.org/software/automake/manual/html_node/Serial-Test-Harness.html

I forget though, is the plan to move to cmake and eventually drop the autotools build?

Discussion

  • Can anyone comment on the long range plans regarding moving to cmake?

at the end, CMake will win because it is smarter ! But today I have one clear trouble with Cmake: they have only a 2 states (Success/Fail) in testsuite. We need a 3 states like in "configure" : OK, SKIP, FAIL.

PS: I test GDL on various OS and still having both ways is better now !
