Hi,

I downloaded the latest Version of gnome-linuxconf.
configure & make worked fine, but whenever I try to
start the program I jst get the message:

prefer slider gauge reconfdia setval alive treemenu
context listen menu

I could find out, that it hang in a poll() during
gtk_main(). I ma not shure, wheather this is a
gtk-problem or a bug in gnome-linuxconf.

Here the lib's I use:
ldd gnome-linuxconf
libpopt.so.0 => /lib/libpopt.so.0 (0x4001e000)
libgtk-1.2.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgtk-1.2.so.0 (0x40024000)
libgdk-1.2.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgdk-1.2.so.0 (0x40149000)
libgmodule-1.2.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgmodule-1.2.so.0
(0x4017d000)
libglib-1.2.so.0 => /usr/lib/libglib-1.2.so.0 (0x40180000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x401a3000)
libXi.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXi.so.6 (0x401a7000)
libXext.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x401b0000)
libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x401be000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x40299000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x402bb000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

Hope this can help :-)

    gnome-linuxconf is not supposed to be run directly. You must
    start linuxconf as you usually do, and it will look for the
    gnome-linuxconf binary in /usr/bin. If it exists it'll be
    used. You must also remove gui-linuxconf (the wxxt
    interface), if it is installed, because it has a higher
    priority (IIRC).

    Could you give me a hint how to remove gui-linuxconf.

    Thanks,

    Marc

    I had the same problem. What has to be removed is
    linuxconf-gui (not the other way around!).

    rpm -e linuxconf-gui

    did the trick; now linuxconf comes up in gtk.
