#11 Select count() returns multiple rows

When I issue the following command to the Gladius Database (which is used for the Drake CMS, hence the example):

select count(id) from dk_categories where section = 'com_downloads' (just an example), the database returns (in my case) 8 rows with the numer 8 in it.

The result is correct, there are 8 records that match this condition, but should it not return just 1 (one) row, containing number 8?

In case of a large number of records this could prove to be troublesome...
