My RTL-8139C works fine in kernel 2.4.20 (standard
debian kernel image) but barely works in 2.6.0 (also
debian image).
Both use the 8139too driver.

My problem is that in 2.6.0 new connections are
frequently dropped, but existing connections seem to
work fine for the most part. For instance, if I'm
trying to scp a large file I'll get "Resource
temoporarily unavailable" several times and then it
will sucessfully connect and transfer fine. I get
similar behavior in other applications, for instance I
have to reload some pages several times to get all of
the images to load. Attached is the output of rtl8139
diag for my 2.4 and 2.6 kernels. Note that this is not
the modified one mentioned in the kernel docs, but the
standard one (neither accepts the -N option specified
in the docs btw)
The attached file contains the output of this:

(cat 8139-working ; echo "------split--------"; cat
8139-nonworking ; echo "------split-------"; lspci -vvv)

Where the 8139-* files contain the output of
rtl8139-diag.
