If you've got an old Toshiba CD-ROM, you may find that
it doesn't catch the beginning or end of the ripped
track correctly. There is a fix implemented into
cdparanoia for this, but it isn't documented on the web
very well (it is in the manpage though).

The commandline option to fix this is -T, I've
implemented it on my installation with no issues yet.
Modify ripping.pl in /usr/local/jukebox

Around line 73:

exec ($PARANOIA,"-T","-d",$ENV{CDROM},$track,$file) ||
die "Couldn't rip $track to $file";

Notice the "-T" argument added. Attaching a patch
here... Not sure how this should be handled, maybe as
the other "additional options" are handled via
"settings" table...?

    Adding -T for everyone isn't a good idea. From the
    cdparanoia manpage:

    "[...]probably causing read errors on most drives and
    possibly even hard lockups on some buggy hardware."

    This should be a configurable option, so it goes into the
    settings table...

    Yes, I mentioned this at the bottom of my initial comment.
