When can we expect Gimp 2.5 windows installer to be ready?
Yeah,yeah,yeah.. I use Linux as well, but since the application installation on Linux never really worked from a user perspective (it is not yet worked out, to put it differently (( for christsake they do not even have a straight concept of an application [as a user sees it] - it is all packages)) ) - I not even going to try installing it. Well,... not yet.

I can't wait to see if Gimp, finally, is getting a usable interface.
These unix nutheads are really something. Sorry I don't know how else to put it. They do a superb job, but did it have to take 8+ years for them to get it (and did they really get it?) that a one view (not window, not MDI or whatever I don't care about) interface is way superior to the multiple discombobulated views (incarnated as separate windows) interface from a very basic usability point of view.
Unix nutheads are not good for Gimp as long as they insist on/persist being nutheads.
    Tough love for Gimp,
    V.

      What about a x86 build of GIMP 2.5.4 + GTK+ 2.14.1 ?

I agree that there are some things about Gimp that are not perfect, but it is free....
Generally for free things, people work on them as they have time.
That is one of the reasons that it takes longer for features to improve.
If you want perfection, go pay 700+ for Photoshop!!

I wouldn't bash uinux "nutheads" to much, It is because of them that we have gimp in the first place.

Just because you don't understand the package scheme, doesn't mean that it doesn't work, It works fine for me.

It is usually not a good idea to call other people that do the major work on this program nutheads.....
