The S200 to which I have access has done a lot of work, and the windows driver keeps popping up a message that the waste ink tank is nearly full. Now that basically means that the sponge pad that the head rests on is saturated, and before long ink will start spilling into the printer. To prevent that happening, the printer will just stop until this pad's renewed and a sequence is sent to the printer. That sequence seems to be a jealously guarded secret; I've heard mention of a peice of software to do the job, which costs more than twice what the printer's worth. Taking it anywhere to be serviced is, likewise, going to cost more than its worth. Epson's guilty of the same practice, but there are at least freeware tools to unjam the printer once the job's been done... All the best, -- Alastair M. Robinson |
