Gigaset frontend 0.7.1 released

This is a maintenance release fixing a few problems with the Makefile and the RPM specfile. It does not contain any changes to the actual software. If you have built release 0.7.0 successfully there's no need to update to this release.

Gigaset frontend 0.5.3 released

The Gigaset 307x frontend tools access functions of a Siemens Gigaset ISDN DECT base, such as

Gigaset driver package for kernel 2.6.17+

With the Gigaset Hardware Drivers, Linux systems can use a Siemens Gigaset 307x/417x/SX2x5 ISDN DECT base as an ISDN adapter for data and voice connections, and access the Gigaset AT command set for supplementary functions.

Starting with Linux kernel release 2.6.17, the USB drivers for direct connection to the base and for the M105 USB DECT data device have been accepted into the main kernel tree.

To support users of these newer kernel releases, the Sourceforge project now offers a new file release package named... read more

Gigaset 307x driver submitted for kernel source tree

We are glad to announce that the USB drivers of the Gigaset 307x project have been submitted for inclusion in the official Linux kernel source tree, and added to Andrew Morton's experimental -mm tree for testing. So there's real hope that, a few kernel versions from now, Linux will support the Gigaset 307x and M105 USB devices out of the box, and you won't have to compile the driver yourself (or wait for us to publish an RPM) for every new kernel version anymore.... read more

Release 0.3.4 published !

We are proud to publish the 4th update of release 0.3.
We optimized the suse installation stuff to protect against security updates which may corrupt our installation.

For people using other distributions than SuSE this update is not interesting...

If you may ask what has happened to release 0.3.3 ? Well.. I corrupted the installation scripts, therefore the package was removed immediately after publishing.. Sorry for any inconvenience I made !... read more

Version 0.3.2 released !

We made some important improvements, therefore I think it is OK to publish the next release.

List of most important improvements:

1. Buggy install script is now fixed in this package
2. HDLC encoding/ decoding fixed (special thanks to Hansjoerg !). This fix is solving the problem with corrupted packages ! Therefore the connection feels much smoother, now ! :)

Have fun with it !

Bug in install script !

I am very sorry to inform you that the installation script, provided in the package of the Release 0.3.1 has a serious bug !

It does not rename the hisax kernel module.
The system startup-skript by Suse ("/etc/init.d/i4l_hardware") is therefore loading it and blocking our startup strategy...

You will find the correct install script in the bugtracking system at:

Welcome to this new project !

After buying the GigaSet 3070 isdn and a GigaSet 101 Data I was very disappointed that Siemens provides no drivers for Linux.
Therefore I decided to develop my own drivers and contacted Siemens for informations about this product. I was very surprised that they agree to support my efforts.
Actually I am starting to develop the hardware layer to use ISDN4Linux (http://www.isdn4linux.de) with this device...
