After applying all the changes from previous discussions and reports, I get a strange failure in testing gifecho (on a different system):

Is this problem real/serious? If so, could you suggest how to debug it?

  • No, this is not a serious problem. Neither libgif nor any other modern software interprets this flag; it's a historical relic.

    Still, it would be nice to know why the test is failing. Can you tell me more about the environment of the failure? What machine architecture produced it?

     
  • Never mind, I think I found the bug. malloc storage was not explicitly initialized.
